Liam Dailey is an NYC-based folk musician and songwriter steeped in the Irish and American traditions. He performs solo, in multiple duos, and with Boston-based Irish rock band Watchfire.
Raised on the great music of the '50s, '60s, and '70s — from the Clancy Brothers to Bob Dylan to the Beatles and Talking Heads — Liam can't remember a time when he wasn't singing with family. He began studying banjo at age 9 and has studied instrumental and vocal performance and composition with brilliant mentors including Aubrey Atwater, Vance Gilbert, Peter Mulvey, Kitty Brazelton, John Kirk, and Tom Bogdan.
Liam has released three albums of original music — two with high school band The Glass Jars and one solo — and was lucky enough to perform with Tom Bogdan's vocal quartet Bennington.
In 2022, Liam joined Boston Irish band Watchfire (formerly Sláinte) with whom he has performed throughout the east coast including at the East Durham, Brooklyn, and Long Island Irish Festivals, not to mention countless nights at the Black Rose, and he's been lucky enough to share the stage with dear friends and inspirations Sheridan Rúitín, Devri, The Day Boys, and the Canny Brothers.
Stop into Murphy's Irish Pub, NYC on Thursday nights, or join Liam's mailing list to find out when he'll be in your area.
